School bus crash in Lakeville Thursday afternoon injures one
The Lakeville Fire Department responded to a school bus crash this afternoon.
According to LFD, at approximately 4:10 pm, Lakeville Fire received a report of a school bus off the road on Pickens Street.
Crews arrived within 4 minutes to find a school bus into a tree. There was 1 adult and 4 children on the bus at the time of the crash.
The bus driver suffered a non-life threatening injury and had to be extricated from the bus. The bus driver was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center for treatment.
The children were evaluated on scene by EMTs and released to their parents.
Responding units included both Lakeville’s ambulances, Engine 1, and Engine 3. Additional off duty firefighters responded directly to the scene.
A mutual aid ambulance was dispatched from Freetown Fire Department, but was cancelled prior to arrival.
Lakeville Fire had no information as to the cause of accident, which is being investigated by Lakeville PD.
Plymouth County Sheriffs Department was also on scene to assist.
