Rumors continue to swirl concerning a complaint reportedly brought against a Fall River school official this week.

On Wednesday, the Fall River School Committee held a special meeting concerning the complaint. The meeting quickly went into an executive session which was not open to the public.

When Mayor Paul Coogan was pressed on the subject by Fall River Community Media in a Thursday morning interview, Coogan would not comment and referred any questions to Fall River School Committee Attorney Bruce Assad. Fall River Reporter contacted Assad’s office and has not received a response as of this writing. Members of the School Committee were also contacted and have not issued a comment.

Back in May, Durfee High School teacher Nathaniel Jezak was arraigned after being charged with possessing child pornography. Also in May, Tory Meneses, a math teacher at Durfee High School since 2015, was put on paid administrative leave after a police investigation began concerning his conduct. He was arrested on several counts of aggravated rape of a child.

Fall River Reporter received a tip from a source within the Fall River school system who accused Fall River Superintendent of Schools Matthew Malone of using an offensive word in front of female staff. The accusation remains unverified as the Fall River School Committee and Fall River mayor Paul Coogan’s office refused to comment on the matter.

Word on street is that Malone is a pint sized bully. A friend of mine knows some of the victims of his abuse. I hope the superintendent is not being protected by his good friends like Mr. Costa on the school committee. This matter needs to see the light of day, not executive sessions meant to keep us in the dark
