Road closures leads to Taunton man winning $10 million dollars
September 17, 2019 – Peter Levesque of Taunton was driving home for lunch when he was detoured through Raynham due to road closures. Along this route, he decided to stop at a familiar gas station, where he purchased a scratch ticket that turned out to be a $10 million prize winner.
Levesque won his $10 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Big Money” instant game. He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $6,500,000 (before taxes). He plans on using his winnings to either build or buy a new home.
Levesque purchased his winning ticket at Stop N Go Express, 593 Broadway in Raynham. The store will receive a $50,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
Two additional $10,000,000 prizes and four $1 million prizes are still available in the “$10,000,000 Big Money” $20 instant game.
