RI man with suspended license arrested after hit and run crash leaves man in critical condition
A Rhode Island man has been arrested after a hit and run crash has seriously injured another man.
According to Warwick Police, on Thursday, at 2:33 p.m., members of the Warwick Police Department were dispatched to the report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident involving a blue Jeep that struck a pedestrian and left the scene in the area of 192 Adams Street.
Officers responded to the scene and investigated the incident. Warwick Fire Department tended to an adult male victim on scene, who was later transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is currently in critical condition.
Officers did locate the suspect vehicle involved in the incident shortly after the crash and the occupants were interviewed by members of the Warwick Police Department Detective Division.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Thomas Leamy, of Warwick for felony assault and/or battery and driving on a suspended license. He was also held on two outstanding Third Division District Court bench warrants.
