Rhode Island woman dies from injuries she sustained due to a fire pit
A Rhode Island woman has died from injuries that she sustained involving a fire pit.
According to police, last evening, Monday, April 3, 2023, Cumberland Police were dispatched to a residence on Mayflower Drive for the report of a deceased female.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim, 60-year-old Deborah Engels, appeared to have tragically died as a result of injuries sustained from an accident with a working backyard fire pit. The Fire Marshall was contacted and also responded to the scene to assist.
Chief Benson and the members of the Cumberland Police Department offered their thoughts and prayers to the family, friends and loved ones of Engels.
