Rhode Island State Police announce highway shooting that injured driver after being struck multiple times
A driver has been injured after multiple shots were fired into his vehicle striking him multiple times.
The Rhode Island State Police today announced that on Thursday, just before 3:30 p.m., members of the Rhode Island State Police and Pawtucket Police responded to the area of Route 95 North at the Cottage Street exit in Pawtucket for a highway shooting incident.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that multiple rounds of ammunition were discharged into a black Mercedes while it was traveling on the highway. Two of these rounds struck the male operator in his shoulder and back. The operator was transported by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators responded to Rhode Island Hospital to speak with the victim, but he was uncooperative.
