Rhode Island man indicted on murder, other charges concerning shooting death at strip club
A Rhode Island man has been indicted on multiple charges, including murder, concerning the shooting death of a 30-year-old man outside of a strip club.
Attorney General Peter Noronha stated that on Thursday, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging 37-year-old Robert Komhlan of Providence with one count of murder, one count of discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and one count of discharge of a firearm in a compact area.
According to WPRI 12, Komhlan is accused of killing Angelo Gomez outside of the Wonderland Gentlemen’s Club in Providence last April. An argument allegedly escalated between two gangs inside of the club when Komhlan pulled up in an SUV and began firing. Gomez was struck by the bullets and rushed to a local hospital where he later died.
On the morning of June 16th, members of North Metro SWAT assisted the U.S Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office – Criminal Investigation Unit in arresting Komhlan in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Komhlan is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in Providence County Superior Court.
