Rhode Island driver summoned to court after four children were injured in crash at Massachusetts YMCA
A driver has been summoned to court after several children were injured after a van crashed through a Massachusetts YMCA.
According to police, Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., the Foxborough Police and Fire Departments responded to the YMCA at 67 Mechanic Street for multiple E-911 calls for a vehicle into the building.
Responding personnel found that a vehicle had struck the building and crashed into a section of the building causing injuries to individuals inside.
Four juveniles were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperating with investigators.
The Foxborough Building Commissioner also arrived on scene checking the safety and integrity of the structure.
The operator of the vehicle has been summoned to Wrentham District Court for the criminal charge of Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The 51-year-old operator from Rhode Island will have a Clerk’s Magistrate hearing to determine probable cause at a later date.
The name of the operator was withheld by police pending the determination of the Clerk Magistrate’s hearing.
