UPDATE: Reported rescue taking place in waters after boating accident

Late this afternoon, Fall River, Somerset, Portsmouth, Bristol, and Tiverton personnel responded to the water down by 1 Ferry Street Borden Light Marina in response to a boating accident.

According to scanner transmissions, at 5:34 p.m., a call came in for a boating accident approximately 300 yards off shore with victims in the water.

One victim was reportedly rescued, treated, and sent to the hospital.

One additional victim was being searched for by multiple agencies including the Fall River Harbormaster.

The Coast Guard arrived with equipment that included a boat and helicopter.

The local search has been called off and will resume at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The Coast Guard has announced that they will be searching through the night.

    Choppers were running til 10 pm, flying low around spar island. Gardners Neck was right under them well after dark. By 11 pm they’d left off.
