We wont see nearly the type of impact that Florence unleashed on the south, but some in New England could see up to a half a foot of rain from what is left of the storm.

According to the National Weather Service, the remnants of Florence will bring rain, heavy at times, to southern New England beginning Monday night and continuing into Tuesday, ending in eastern sections on Tuesday evening.

Torrential downpours could produce as much as 3″ of rain in a 6-hour period. The NWS cannot as yet tell where the highest amounts will actually end up. The greatest likelihood of 3 to 4 inches is in northern MA. Isolated 5 inch amounts cannot be ruled out near the NH border. Be on the lookout for flash flooding of small streams and tributaries as well as urban flash flooding on Tuesday.
