UPDATE: Recreational marijuana sales to officially begin in Fall River Sunday, buying instructions enclosed
Recreational marijuana sales will officially begin in Fall River this Sunday.
Northeast Alternatives, at 999 William S. Canning Blvd, was given the green light by the Cannabis Control Commission on December 13th to cultivate, manufacture, and sell recreational marijuana once some procedural actions were complete. NEA has now received their approval certificate and will open Sunday for recreational. The Commission issued the notice Wednesday.
NEA has been in business as a medical marijuana dispensary since June 30th. They were the first dispensary to open in the city.
The facility will be able to grow up to 5,000 square feet of marijuana canopy.
To purchase recreational marijuana from NEA, you will need to use an app called QLess. The process will help ease traffic at the facility.
Northeast Alternatives has issued a statement regarding recreational sales and the process to take place.
“NEA will be the first dispensary open to serve both MA medical and recreational customers 21+ years old in Southeastern MA! We will be open for recreational sales this Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 12-9pm. We will be open 10am-9pm Monday-Saturday.
We continue to serve our valued MA medical patients during our normal store hours. When we open for recreational sales this Sunday, MA medical patients will be able to proceed directly to the parking lot and to a separate line at any time during open hours.
Recreational customers will need to use the QLess app on their smartphone to get into a “virtual line”. We will open the line at 11am on Sunday morning and 60 minutes before opening each day. We are using this app to help our customers avoid long lines outside in the cold, winter weather. All recreational customers will be required to enter the virtual line through QLess. No recreational “walk-ins” will be allowed.
Full instructions on how to use the QLess app will be posted on our social media platforms this Friday. Please don’t try to get into line now as the line will not be open until 11am on Sunday.”
