A record $16.35 million Megabucks Doubler jackpot prize from Massachusetts State Lottery was claimed recently at lottery headquarters.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, NorthLand Adventures Nominee Trust of Springfield has claimed the record $16.35 million jackpot prize that was at stake in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Megabucks Doubler drawing that took place Saturday, September 10, 2022.
The trust, represented by trustee Hyman Darling, chose the annuity option on its prize and received a check for $827,000 (before taxes), the first of 20 annual payments.
The winning Quic Pic ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms located at 195 West St. in Ware. The store receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of the jackpot winning ticket.
The previous largest Megabucks Doubler jackpot ever hit was $13.82 million, won in the March 10, 2012 drawing on a ticket sold in Wakefield.
