Recently retired Massachusetts woman plans on helping family after $1 million prize on State Lottery game
A recently retired Massachusetts woman is thinking about her family after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Susan Maxwell is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “15,000,000 Money Maker” instant ticket game.
Maxwell, who is from Arlington, opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she fully retired on October 1, not because of this win, it was just time. She said she plans to use some of her winnings to help her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Her winning ticket was purchased at Arlington Convenience, 245 Mass. Ave. in Arlington. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
