Providence Police release body cam videos concerning crash involving Jhamal Gonsalves
Providence Police released body cam video Monday concerning a crash last week that severely injured a moped rider.
Family, friends, and community organizations previously identified 24-year old Jhamal Gonsalves who was critically injured in the crash a week ago Sunday.
The crash involved a Providence police cruiser and Gonsalves. Police, however, are currently unsure if the cruiser made contact with Gonsalves.
Jhamal was unconscious upon arrival to the hospital and is reportedly in critical condition and in a coma with swelling in his brain.
The crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Elmwood Avenue near Bissell Street.
