UPDATE: Providence police arrest mother in death of newborn
A Providence mother has been placed under arrest for the death of her newborn.
According to WJAR 10, 21 year old Ginalys Velazquez Camara is facing first degree murder for the death of her 7 day old baby due to neglect.
We reported that authorities found the deceased infant inside 111-113 Ring Street in Providence. The discovery was made back on March 30th at 11:00 a.m. according to Providence Police.
Police state that Velazquez Camara never named the baby or got the infant medical attention at a hospital.
Police also said that Velazquez Camara gave birth on Union Avenue.
The mother was treated at Rhode Island Hospital at the time of the discovery.
