Protests at Bristol County drag queen story hours leads state senator to file “book banning” bill

A Massachusetts senator has filed legislation concerning book banning after protests at drag queen story hours in Bristol County.

Protests during the story hours in Fall River and Taunton involving a reported neo-Nazi group NSC-131, has led State Senator Julian Cyr (D-Truro) to create a bill with consultation from ACLU Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the Massachusetts School Library Association, and MassEquality.

According to Cyr, the goal of SD.2673 is to protect public and school libraries’ diverse and inclusive books, media, events and materials from political interference.

The legislation would also protect librarians from retaliation and ensure that public libraries adopt the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights.

“Massachusetts is home to the nation’s first public library and first public school because we have long appreciated that unabridged access to knowledge is key to opportunity and fulfillment,” said Cyr. “At this sad moment when hate and fear are driving too many cruel policies across the nation, and yes closer to home, Massachusetts must continue to champion values of equity and belonging. Indeed, books are among our most compelling windows into the myriad of human experiences and capture the breadth of knowledge. We cannot allow small-minded bans or politically opportunist censorship interfere with the right to read.”

Cyr introduced the 2023 Provincetown Carnival Parade Grand Marshal Jason Carter on Wednesday for a special Drag Story Hour at Provincetown Public Library.

The bill was referred to the Committee on Education Thursday in the Massachusetts Senate.

The Demonic Nazi Fascist Religious Left keeps pushing their depraved Theology onto society, culture and especially on to the Children. Like their father, Satan; they lust at stealing Children’s innocence.

Julian Cyr is truly a creepy and depraved LBGTXGXX activist on Cape Cod that Hillary/Liz aging karens voted into Office several years ago. This Bill is loaded with provisions that continue the elevation of LBTGXXX rights ABOVE those of the rest of citizenry. They have long been a protected class and that is why they are so brazen about preying on children. Only an actual child believes this is about free expression or banning books. we all know what this is about and the perverted men dressing up as women to get sexual titillation from Children know what this about more than anybody. We are in a very sick society with extremely sick, depraved, and evil leadership.

No what’s depraved is your ignorant beliefs and you want to force your ignorant beliefs on other people because you believe your beliefs come from the almighty? I guess you don’t believe in freedom, freedom to be what you want to be or what you believe to be or what you were born to be. I have to wonder how you’ve made your own life suffer from having such close-mindedness. I also have to wonder if you are a lower IQ since you can’t seem to understand that people are not all exactly male or female. Research has proven that people can reside in a whole spectrum between male and female and some smack in the middle. But hey you think you’re smarter than doctors and scientists. You probably didn’t even graduate high school! Read any books or newspapers lately? Member of the Trumplican cult? Everything for yourself or question anything including religion? I doubt it.
