Police release name of victim in fatal crash on Route 95 in Mansfield
Police have released the name of a man that was killed Thursday in a serious crash.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 11:39 a.m. Thursday, Troopers assigned to State Police-Foxboro responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on Route 95 northbound in Mansfield. Mansfield Fire also responded to assist.
Upon their arrival, they located a 2009 Honda Accord that, for reasons still under investigation, left the roadway and crashed into the median striking several trees. The operator, 47-year-old Manny Roman from Attleboro, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was determined to be deceased on scene by paramedics. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The left lane of Route 95 northbound was closed to facilitate crash reconstruction and cleanup.
Family of Roman were shocked and saddened at the sudden loss just before Christmas.
The exact cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police along with the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Bristol County Detectives and the Troop H State Police Detective Unit.
