A man has been killed in a serious weekend crash.

According to Rhode Island State Police, at approximately 5:09 p.m. on March 27th, Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks as well as members of the Pawtucket Fire and Rescue responded to a motor vehicle crash on the ramp from Smithfield Avenue to Route 95 North in the City of Pawtucket.

The investigation revealed that a GMC Sedona, operated by John Betters III, age 62, of Providence, was traveling on the ramp from Smithfield Avenue to Route 95 North. At a point approximately two hundred feet south of the merge between the ramp and Route 95, the Sedona left the roadway and veered left, consequently entering the grassy median.
