Police release details of hit-and-run vehicle that injured Fall River and Rhode Island responder
COVENTRY, RI – On May 29, 2024, at 9:15 p.m., the Western Coventry Fire Department and
Coventry Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Victory Highway for a medical emergency. As members of the Western Coventry Fire Department were exiting their fire engine, a passing vehicle struck the front passenger side door to the fire department vehicle, causing injuries to the exiting fire fighters and damaging the fire engine. One of those injured was Fall River EMS Paramedic Miranda Hennessy. The suspect vehicle continued traveling north on Victory Highway and fled the scene.
The Coventry Police Department’s Detective Division and Accident Reconstruction Unit are
investigating this collision and are requesting any relevant information or tips from the public.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2019 – 2023 Chrysler minivan with front passenger side
damage, specifically to at least the passenger side view mirror.
