Police arrest Swansea man on several charges for allegedly taking intimate pictures of children

Police have arrested a Swansea man for allegedly taking intimate pictures of children.

According to Lt. Joseph Martin, Gerald R. Caron, 65, of 613 Stevens Road Swansea, Massachusetts, was arrested today on various charges relating to the illegal video recording of unsuspecting guests in his home. The Swansea Police Department received a complaint in June that Caron had covert “two-way” mirrors in various locations of his home.

A search warrant was issued and executed at the residence which led to Caron being charged with one count each of Photographing sexual or intimate parts without consent, Photographing sexual or intimate parts of a child without consent, Possession of Child Pornography, and Posing and/or Exhibiting a child in the nude with Lascivious intent.

Caron was ordered held on $7500 cash bail.

The case is being investigated by the Swansea Police Department Abuse Unit and the Swansea Police Department Detective Division with special assistance from Taunton Police Detective Randy J. Demello who is assigned to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Boston, Cyber Crime/Child Exploitation group.

The ongoing investigation is being led by Swansea Police Detective Jonathan Boyd.
