Police arrest man on several charges after allegedly shooting another man in Fall River
A man has been arrested on multiple charges after a Fall River shooting injured another man.
According to Lt. Gregory Wiley, on October 12th, Fall River Police investigated a shooting which took place on St. Joseph Street where a male victim sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
The victim was travelling on St. Joseph Street on his bicycle when he passed an unknown male and unknown female. As the victim continued towards Eastern Avenue, he heard a loud bang and felt something hit his leg.
The victim later went to Charlton Memorial Hospital and was treated for his injury.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division joined the investigation and identified the shooter as 27-year-old Dillon Silvester. A warrant was requested for Silvester on the charges of Armed assault to murder, Carry a loaded firearm in public without a license, Carry a firearm without a license 2nd offense, and Firearm violation with 1 prior violent/drug offense.
New Bedford Police arrested Silvester on October 25th for a crime he committed in their city and was also charged with the warrant Fall River Police had requested.
