Police arrest Fall River man after string of car break-ins throughout the area

A Fall River man has been arrested after a string of car break-ins in the Fall River area.

According to Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Friday, detectives assigned to the Major Crimes Division arrested 30-year-old Wilson Colon-Tirado in connection with a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle which occurred on November 30. During that incident, two motor vehicles were broken into at a local business and items were stolen from one of the vehicles.

Pereira stated that over the past few months, there have been several other incidents in the City of Fall River with similar characteristics. The investigation into those cases is ongoing.

During his investigation, Detective Luis Vertentes also discovered that similar crimes have been occurring in Westport, Dartmouth and Tiverton. Fall River PD has been in touch with their local law enforcement partners to offer assistance with their investigations as well.

Wilson Colon-Tirado has been charged with Breaking and Entering to a vehicle in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, Vandalism, and Attempt to commit a crime.

Pereira would like to remind people to lock their car doors and not leave valuables in their vehicles.

    Release him with a low bond. He was simply doing what he had to do to survive these cold streets. Neck/face tats and fentanyl don’t pay for themselves…..Naughty list Wily boy!
