UPDATE: Cooling tower implosion confirmed for Saturday, police announce road closures

Somerset Police have announced more road closures ahead of the Brayton Point Cooling Tower implosion.

On April 27, 2019 the Brayton Point Power Station cooling towers will be imploded at approximately 8:00 a.m.. In anticipation of an influx of spectator traffic, the Somerset Police Department will be instituting the following temporary parking restrictions.

According to Somerset Fire Department, the cooling tower implosion is confirmed for Saturday- no weather delays.

Parking restrictions will go into effect on Saturday, April 27th beginning at 12:00AM and ending at 12:00PM. Please note that the following areas will be posted, “NO PARKING PER ORDER OF SOMERSET POLICE.”

1. Brayton Point Road (Butler St, south to O’Neil Rd): both sides.
2. Crestview Ave: north side
3. Briggs Ave: south side
4. Rive Ave: south side
5. Jackson Ave: south side
6. Harbor View Blvd: north side
7. O’Neil Rd: both sides
8. Ripley St: south side
9. Massasoit St: west side
10. Pocasset St: north side
11. Anawan Street: east side
12. Angus St: east side
13. Carey St: south side
14. Perkins: east side
15. Keene St: east side
16. Stoddard St: west side
17. Farren St: east side
18. Stanley St: east side
19. Hebb St: west side
20. Burke St: west side
21. Home St: east side
22. Kenneth Ave: south side
23. Randolph St: west side
24. Kathleen Ave: north side
