Police: 17-year-old Swansea teen killed, another injured, in late-night crash
SWANSEA — Chief Marc Haslam reports that the Swansea Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday night.
Just after 11:15 p.m., Swansea Police received several 911 calls reporting a crash in the area of 171 Marvel Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a Ford Fusion that had left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant and utility pole.
The driver, identified as 17-year-old Ethan Kielec, of Swansea, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old passenger was transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Swansea Police Department and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
