The 9th annual Fall River Polar Plunge kicked off to much warmer temperatures Sunday at Sandy Beach.

The plunge was initially scheduled for New Year’s Day but was postponed due to the frigid temperatures.

Both hosts, Mayor Jasiel Correia, and Pat Casey took their plunges in support of the cause.

Both the Mayor, and in particular Casey, have been long supporters of the Forever Paws plunge to help the non-profit/no kill animal shelter with expenses.

The event drew 20 participants. The donations have not been fully counted, but the result is over $30,000.
