People Incorporated purchases land in Fall River to create state-of-the-art youth care and education center

FALL RIVER, MA – People Incorporated has purchased four acres of land in the North End of Fall River with the plan to construct a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the care and education of the city’s youth. This early education center will combine the services the Agency currently offers in its People Incorporated Preschool, with the opportunity to further expand programs that are focused on providing the necessary tools that promise a brighter future for young children. The Agency’s vision is to turn the vacant area into a vibrant epicenter for learning, personal growth, and formative childhood development that will help to fill a critical need of childcare and early education in Fall River.

Five years ago, People Incorporated has operated and expanded a fully licensed and accredited preschool program that has served Fall River’s youngest learners, most of whom are from families that experience economic hardship and other challenges. The People Incorporated Early Education Center, planned for the newly purchased site, will be a modern facility that will enhance programming and provide a welcoming, nurturing environment for the children it serves. “We understand the importance of early education in Greater Fall River, and People Incorporated has made a significant financial commitment to ensuring it is provided professionally and as a premier service of our Agency,” said Megan Scheffer, President & CEO of People Incorporated. “Five years ago, we assumed this enormous responsibility from the City with the intention of not only continuing the program but also constantly seeking to improve it.”
