Paving, milling to take place on Route 79 for 2 to 3 months
FALL RIVER – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced it will be conducting milling and paving operations on Route 79 in Fall River in the areas between the Route 24 interchange and the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, and in a section of Main Street and the ramps intersecting with Route 79. The work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, September 15, 2019, and is expected to be completed in approximately two to three months.
Construction operations will be conducted each night during the overnight hours of 8:00 p.m., to 5:00 a.m.
Single lane closures are anticipated while the work is being performed. Traffic Management will consist of standard temporary traffic control utilizing police details.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
