Over 450,000 Massachusetts residents have recovered from COVID-19, over 60 new deaths reported

Massachusetts saw a decrease in active cases, hospitalizations, and positive test rate in Thursday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts saw 2,213 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Wednesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has declined to 2.65%, the lowest it has been since November 7th.

Massachusetts had seen 1,920 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 523,258 with 62 more reported dead (61 confirmed, 1 probable) for a total of 15,269 (14,964 confirmed, 305 probable).

The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 14,631,637 after 110,792 new molecular tests.

The 7 day average of confirmed COVID-19 deaths is currently 46.0.

Estimated active cases saw a decrease to 50,344.

Hospitalizations have increased in 92 of the last 148 days and 67 of the last 107 and saw another decrease of 45 to lower the total to 1,313. COVID-19 hospitalizations have decreased as of late as there were 2,428 in the Bay State on January 4th. December 1st was the last time that COVID-19 hospitalizations were this low.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report

According to the February 11th report, Fall River has a 67.2 Average Daily Incident Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) (83.6 last week). New Bedford saw a decrease to 62.4 (was 83.4). Westport is also in the red at 46.5 (was 50.3), Swansea is at 52.8 and was 75.2 last week. Somerset also saw a decrease as they sit at 50.9 (was 72.9). Freetown decreased to 49.7 from 52.9. Dartmouth is currently at 52.7 after seeing 55.6 last week. Acushnet has the highest rate in Bristol County at 73.1 (was 82.7).

Massachusetts Officials have now also issued a “vaccine doses administered and shipped” report updated on February 11th.

As of February 11th, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 27,127,858 cases of COVID-19 with 470,110 reported deaths.
