One sent to the hospital after early morning multi-vehicle crash on Route 195

A driver was injured Friday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 195.

Crews responded to an automobile vs tractor trailer on Route 195 at approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning, according to the Westport Fire Department.

Despite the severe damage to the vehicle, the driver only sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Westport firefighters/paramedics.

Westport FD stated that at the time of the crash, a second medical call came in, prompting the need for mutual aid. 7 calls were answered this morning with 398 calls for service year-to-date, which is 80 more calls than this time last year.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
