One juvenile dead, another seriously injured, as juvenile arrested in Sunday afternoon crash
Rhode Island State Police are reporting a fatality and an arrest in a Sunday afternoon crash involving juveniles.
At 12:30 p.m., the Rhode Island State Police and New Shoreham Police responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle crash on West Side Road in New Shoreham on Block Island.
As a result of the crash, a juvenile male sustained fatal injuries and a second juvenile male passenger was med-flighted from the scene to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
A female juvenile driver was identified at the scene of the crash and is being held at the Rhode Island Training School and will be presented to Family Court on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, on the charges of Driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, resulting in death, Driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, resulting in serious bodily, Driving so as to endanger, resulting in death, and Driving so as to endanger, resulting in serious bodily injury.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
