One dead, three injured in multi-vehicle Taunton crash
A crash last night in Taunton resulted in the death of a Lakeville woman.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Nicholas Lorenco indicates that at about 9:15 p.m., a 33-year-old Plymouth woman was traveling on Route 140 Northbound in a 2005 GMC Envoy when her vehicle collided with a 2013 Chrysler 200, which was turning left from Route 140 Southbound, across the northbound travel lanes, to enter the ramp for Route 24 Northbound.
The operator of the GMC Envoy and her 35-year-old male passenger, also from Plymouth, were transported to Morton Hospital in Taunton for treatment of minor injuries. The operator of the Chrysler, a 22-year-old Acushnet man, was also transported to Morton Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. His passenger, a 21-year-old Lakeville woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and Troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed at this time.
State Police were assisted on scene by members of the Taunton Police and Fire departments, Brewster Ambulance, and MassDOT.
