Two bodies have been recovered after two people went missing Sunday in local waters.

Rescue crews from STA Castle Hill, Air Station Cape Cod, and the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force began searching for a 10-year-old girl and 35-year-old man in the Narragansett Bay Sunday afternoon after they both went missing at Conimicut Point Park beach in Warwick.

The Cutter COHO also joined the search.

On Sunday evening, the 30-year old male had been recovered, unresponsive, by STA Castle Hill and transferred ashore to EMS.

USCG crews and Narragansett Bay Task Force continued their search for the 11-year old girl.

The USCG Cutter COHO continued searching through the night and crews from STA Castle Hill and Air Station Cape Cod searched today until the 11-year-old was found unresponsive Monday afternoon near Conimicut Point.

Authorities have released the names of both parties. The 10-year-old girl was identified as Yoskerly Martinez and the 35-year-old man was determined to be Valentin Cardona Sanchez.

Sanchez, who is unrelated to Martinez, went into the waters to try and save her, but died attempting to do so.

Two other individuals were rescued. One is in critical condition. Officials were unsure of the condition of the second individual.
