Officials announce sudden passing of veteran Rhode Island police officer, services announced
On Friday officials announced the death of one of their own. A long-time veteran police officer.
The University of Rhode Island Police Department announced the untimely passing of University Police Officer Robert Kenyon.
The 47-year-old Kenyon served with URI Police for just over five years. Prior to his service to the URI community, Officer Kenyon spent just over sixteen years with the Hopkinton Police Department.
According to family, Kenyon also served in the United States Coast Guard.
The wake is scheduled to take place April 26th from 3-7:00 p.m. at Buckler Johnston Funeral Home in Westerly, RI. The funeral will also take place there on April 27th at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Wood River Cemetery in Westerly with military honors.
A cause of death was not released.
