Officers stop over 100 distracted drivers in three hours including face timing family members
Over 100 drivers were caught driving distracted in a three hour period by a local police department.
Over 100 drivers were caught driving distracted in a three hour period by a local police department.
West Bridgewater Undercover Officers, as well as Bicycle Officers, were used to stop 126 violators in just three hours Tuesday. These drivers were observed operating their motor vehicle in violation of Massachusetts General Laws. 81 citations were issued during this three hour period.
222 violations have been issued by the department in the last 5 days.
Most of the violators were cited for texting. However, some were cited for streaming episodes of old television shows, streaming movies, playing “Pokemon Go”, enjoying a PuPu Platter dinner, as well as face timing a family member.
West Bridgewater Police Department emphasized that they will aggressively address this problem through both educational and enforcement options. It is their hope that people realize the inherent dangers Distracted Driving causes and that people need to “Just Drive.”
