Norfolk District Attorney: Missing Holbrook man found deceased by police
HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office regret to confirm that the Holbrook Police Department and its mutual aid partners have located the body of a missing man.
Steven O’Connell, age 49, of Holbrook, was last seen on Tuesday, July 11. His body was found by police on the afternoon of Thursday, July 13, in an abandoned building a short distance from his home. The family has been notified.
State Police Homicide detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office joined Holbrook Police at the discovery site. There is no suspicion of foul play at this time.
The Holbrook Police Department thanked the Massachusetts State Police Airwing and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council for their assistance in the search.
The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
“I join Chief Smith and the public safety officials who conducted this search in expressing my condolences to Mr. O’Connell’s family and those he left behind,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said. “And our thanks to those who joined in the search.”
