It is looking more likely that many Americans will be receiving a second $1,200 stimulus check due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A payment that would mirror the previous stimulus payment.

According to The Hill, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, states concerning the payments that “We’re talking about the same provision as last time, so our proposal is the exact same proposal as last time.”

In the first stimulus package in March, Americans who earned less than $75,000 a year received checks of $1,200 each, with an additional $500 for each child younger than 17. Lesser amounts were received for those with income above $75,000. Those earning $99,000 or more did not qualify.

More specifics are expected to be laid out next week.
