New high-end Mexican waterfront restaurant coming to Fall River
A new restaurant is headed to Fall River’s waterfront in the coming months.
Represented by Attorney Mark Levin and well-known city restaurant owner Michael Lund, Morgan’s Cantina LLC went in front of the Licensing Board on Monday for a new All Alcohol Common Victuallers License.
Lund, who currently co-owns Pier 52 and the Tipsy Seagull with his wife Nicole and previously owned the Tipsy Toboggan, stated that this eatery will be different than the others with a second floor that overlooks the Braga Bridge and Mount Hope Bay on 1 Ferry Street. It will feature high-end Mexican cuisine, something Lund says is lacking in this geographical area.
Levin states that he believes Morgan’s Cantina will attract customers from across the area and beyond, including Boston.
Lund stated that the restaurant will seat 50-55 patrons and hire 30 full and part-time employees.
According to Lund, the building will be located where an older shed currently sits on the left-hand side when you enter the marina. A new building will be constructed there that will also include office space.
Nicole Lund will be the bar manager.
The hours of operation are expected to be 7 days a week from noon to 11:00 p.m. and will be open year-round.
The Lunds were granted the All Alcohol Common Victuallers License.

Lund meant; high priced Mexican Cuisine! Corn and Jalapeños along with lettuce and tomatoes, beans and rice are not high end foods, no matter how you slice and dice them. Not sure if Fall River is ready for a $15 taco or a $48 burrito.

Tex-Mex is what you get at all the places around here now. Practically everything’s made with the same few ingredients. What they plan on serving is authentic Mexican which is worlds apart.

I agree. If it’s done right there are many dishes they could serve that are much different from the typical fare at most Mexican restaurants here and pretty much everywhere. The best meal I ever had was at a place in Santa Barbara and involved sea bass. Many seafood dishes from Mexican chefs are fantastic and are far from the usual Tex-Mex we’re all familiar with. I wish them well.

Keep on keeping on Mr. Lund. I am grateful for the area you have built. It is beautiful.
Thank you Mr Lund!
