New Fall River eatery opening at familiar spot
The circumstances surrounding the site of one of Fall River’s soon-to-be restaurants did not end well, but the new owners that are about to take over are looking to change that.
Cityside Pizza and Tavern is soon to open at the site of the former A1 Pub at 207 Rhode Island Avenue.
Co-owner Steve Parrot, who is a veteran of six previous restaurants, is in the process of creating a family restaurant at the site. According to Parrot, the eatery will have affordable options with a brighter and more popping décor.
Parrott went in front of the Licensing Board Wednesday to transfer licenses and to discuss the sit down restaurant that will also feature takeout with offerings such as pizza and subs.
Parrott was looking to open Cityside next week, but paperwork will likely push the opening back a bit. The licenses will be transferred pending an inspection, but the paperwork for the site’s new and experienced manager will need to be squared away next week.
Parrott is currently leasing the building, but could possibly buy it in the future.
A1 Pub abruptly closed on Sunday November 18th, but Parrott clearly has plans to bring new life to the site.
