Name released of 37-year-old woman killed in pedestrian crash on Route 24 in Fall River
The name of the victim in a fatal crash last week in Fall River has been released.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at 5:15 a.m., Friday, Massachusetts State Troopers and the Fall River Fire Department responded to a fatal pedestrian crash on Route 24 north in Fall River.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2020 Ford F250 pickup operated by a 44-year-old Fall River man struck an adult woman, who was determined to be deceased on scene.
Trooper James DeAngelis has told Fall River Reporter that the woman that succumbed to her injuries during the crash has been identified as 37-year-old Christin Oliveira of Lakeville.
Friends expressed how much they will miss Oliveira. A tragic loss any time of year but especially with the holidays approaching.
The facts and circumstances of the crash, including why the pedestrian was on the highway, are still under investigation by the State Police-Dartmouth Barracks, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and State Police Detective Unit for Bristol County.
