Name released in death at Swansea Town Beach Saturday
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has released the name of the victim in this past weekend’s incident in Swansea.
According to MassLive, the man who died at Swansea Town Beach Saturday has been identified as 55 year old Christopher Johnson of Swansea.
According to Sgt. Mark Foley, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Swansea Police received a 911 call of an unresponsive male at the Swansea Town beach. It was learned that the male party was located in the water by individuals kayaking, who alerted bystanders on the beach for assistance. The male party was pulled to shore where the bystanders administered CPR. Swansea Ambulance personnel arrived and provided Advanced Life support. Johnson was transported by Swansea Ambulance to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine what caused Johnson’s death.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
Jason Davis, 39, of Fall River, also died earlier this year on July 21st at the same beach.
