DARTMOUTH, MA – The mystery continues over a missing Bristol County man that has disappeared.

Henry Fermino was last seen on Sunday, May 9, 2021, by a housekeeper working at the Capri Inn in Dartmouth. At that time, Fermino was 60 years old and had recently checked into the motel. On the day he was last seen, he was observed to be in the company of another man.

Fermino checked into the Capri by himself on Saturday 5/08/2021 for two nights. On Sunday, 5/09/2021, the girlfriend of Henry stated she received a phone call from a stranger’s phone and had a voicemail from Henry at around 8:00 AM. Strangers while having breakfast stated they observed Henry crossing Route 6 away from the Motel. Later that day, the housekeeper stated at around 2:00 PM that she saw Henry with an unknown male she had never seen before but no vehicle parked out front. His cell phone last pinged in the area of the Motel up until Tuesday, 5/11/2021. Housekeeper stated she found Henry’s cell phone while cleaning his room on Monday, 5/10/2021.

An extensive search of the surrounding areas was conducted in the days following his disappearance with negative results.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Search and Rescue Unit conducted a large-scale search.

The search was conducted in the wooded area located between Cross Road and Reed Road, after Dartmouth detectives received credible information from New Bedford detectives that Fermino was likely in that area on May 11th. Fermino was not located during that search.

Fermino is an African American man who at the time of his disappearance was described as 5’2” and weighing approximately 155-165 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair that is receding.

He reportedly was known to keep in contact with his family before his disappearance.

If anyone has information on Fermino’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to call either the New Bedford Police Department or the Dartmouth Police Department.
