UPDATE: Multiple pedestrians seriously injured in Fall River crash

Pedestrians were seriously hurt in a Saturday morning crash in Fall River.

According to Lieutenant Jay Huard, at approximately 9:45 a.m., police officers along with the Fall River Fire Department, were dispatched to the area of 231 Weaver Street to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash involving several pedestrians.

Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that had crashed into the building with two females stuck under the front of the vehicle.

Huard stated that the Fall River Fire Department was able to safely remove both females from under the vehicle.

The two females were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

At least two others also received minor injuries, according to witnesses.

A Thanksgiving food pantry was taking place at the building at the time of the crash.

Those that were hit, including the two seriously, are volunteers at the pantry, according to volunteers at Angels Anonymous.

According to Vice President of Angels Anonymous Tony Abreu, everyone that was injured in the crash has been cleared from the hospital.

The pantry was back to serving the public Sunday morning, including some of the injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
