Mr. Chen, with help from community, shows appreciation to Fall River area first responders

When a Fall River Chinese Restaurant decided to raise some money to give back to first responders, the effort even exceeded expectations.

With Thanksgiving and the thoughts of appreciation and being thankful, Dominic Chen of Mr. Chen gathered some friends and business owners to throw appreciation luncheons Monday for first responders in the Fall River area. The response from the community was even more than Chen expected.

Throwing in some of his own money in addition to making the party platters himself, $2000 was raised, good for 50 big party trays.

Chen planned to deliver the platters to Fall River Police/Fire, Somerset Police/Fire, Swansea Police/Fire, Westport Police/Fire, Dartmouth Police/Fire, and Tiverton Police/Fire.

In addition to Chen, those who donated include Rick Manuels from Spindle City Auto Glass, Dave Oliveira from Divine Real Estate, Tim Pinto from S M Automotive, Chris Johnson from Isaksen Solar, Isaksen Solar Company, Timothy Lynn Jr. from Milestone Mortgage Solutions, Matthew Daylor from Keller Williams South Watuppa, Pamela Laliberte, Gilbert Pimental Jr., Virgil Pacheco from Traditional Design LLC, and Stephanie St. Onge.

Chen stated that he wants to make this a yearly tradition.
