Motorcycle rider seriously injured in Route 6 crash in Dartmouth
A motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a Route 6 crash yesterday.
According to Dartmouth Police, on Wednesday, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Dartmouth Police, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the area of State Road near Elizabeth Street for a reported motorcycle crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Justin Luiz, 36, of New Bedford, had crashed into three separate vehicles while traveling east.
As a result of the crash, Luiz was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and part of State Road was shut down while the investigation was conducted.
Though preliminary investigation shows that speed may have been a contributing factor, no charges have yet been filed.
