Motorcycle operator killed in Saturday night crash in Middleborough
MIDDLEBOROUGH – Chief Joseph Perkins reports that the Middleborough Police Department responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle this evening.
Middleborough Police received a 911 call at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, for a report of a motorcycle accident at 198 Old Center Street in Middleborough.
Upon arrival officers found a single operator and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the road. The operator, a 25-year-old Middleborough man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Old Center Street, between Ash Street and Clay Street, was closed at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Middleborough Police Department. Officers believe speed was a factor.
