Father and daughter killed in motorcycle crash according to DA

A Massachusetts crash has claimed the lives of two people.

According to Hanson Police, on Friday at approximately 9:35 p.m., the Hanson Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Monponsett Street (Rt. 58) near Hill Road.

Officers located a 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, which had been travelling south on Monponsett Street, had left the road way and struck a pole.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Brockton Hospital by Hanson Fire where he later died. The female passenger on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Plymouth County DA announced that 58-year-old James Ripley was found in the roadway and was the driver. 19-year-old Jenna Ripley was the passanger.

Monponsett Street was closed for approximately 4 hours.

Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded. Troopers from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s Office also responded to the scene. Sgt. Peter Calogerio and Officer Mario Thompson of the Hanson Police are assisting the State Police with the investigation.

    My condolences to this family.9:35pm is a beautiful warm night time to ride as myself i enjoy riding but you just never know.Most likely it was a touring bike which can be heavy to turn, Again god bless this family Such young people,may god be with you both. MC Biker
