Mother issues plea to the public after son injured in hit-and-run crash on Route 24 that flipped car several times
Fall River/Raynham, MA – A local mother is thankful that her son is alive after a serious morning crash.
Amanda Aguiar is asking the public’s help to find the person involved in hitting her Fall River son’s vehicle, causing it to rollover multiple times.
“I need the public’s help. At about 6:40 a.m. on Route 24 (my son) heading back to Fall River from Route 44 in Raynham, I received a phone call NO mother wants to hear from the police that my son was in a very bad car accident. Someone hit my son and his car flipped over 3 times.”
Aguiar stated that all of the car’s airbags deployed and that someone must have been watching out for her son.
“They can’t explain anything more than he has angels watching over him. All of his windows are smashed. The roof is caved in. The car is a total loss.”
Aguiar gave a description of the vehicle that is believed to have hit her son’s vehicle.
“The SCUM bag that side swiped him was a teal-colored Jeep or an SUV of some kind. It’s not a common color.”
Aguiar said that the driver did not stop to check on her son.
“They kept going. What kind of a person does something like this to anyone? I could have been going to the hospital to say my goodbyes to my 21-year-old son who turns 22 this Friday!!! Because some SCUM like this person!!
Aguiar is hoping the public can help her family catch the driver involved.
“Please if anyone saw anything or if anyone knows of a teal Jeep or SUV with new damage, please take a photo. Please share. I’m grateful he’s alive. It could have been way worse, but I need the public’s help. This SCUM bag needs to take responsibility for this!!! So please share!!’
A spokesperson with Massachusetts State Police stated that if there is anyone with additional information regarding the crash, they can contact Trooper Jared Hebert at the State Police Middleboro Barracks by calling 508-947-2222.
