More details released concerning 20-year-old Fall River man allegedly shot to death by family member

An arrest has been made in the Fall River homicide on Rodman Street that occurred on Saturday, District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn, III announced. 

A 17-year-old male juvenile, who is a relative of the decedent, has been arrested for murder. 

At approximately 12:30 p.m., Fall River Police and EMS responded to the third floor of 983 Rodman Street in Fall River for a report of a male who had been shot inside of the residence. 

Upon arrival, police located 20- year-old Jaleale Simmons, a third-floor resident of 983 Rodman Street, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Simmons was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River where he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival.   

Simmon’s relative, a 17-year-old male juvenile, who also resides on the third floor of 983 Rodman Street, has been charged with Murder for the shooting death of Simmons.  The 17-year-old juvenile defendant is expected to be arraigned in the Fall River District Court on Monday.

This homicide is being investigated by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Fall River Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors.
