Missing Massachusetts woman found dead, police looking to locate ex-boyfriend
A missing Massachusetts woman has been found dead and police are trying to locate someone who may have information.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, a body discovered in Brattleboro, Vt., this morning has been tentatively identified as Mary Anderson, 23, of Harvard, Mass., who was reported missing over the weekend. Her body was located inside her truck, which had been sought as part of the missing persons investigation.
Massachusetts State Police are assisting Vermont State Police in the investigation into Anderson’s disappearance and death. State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Harvard, Mass., Police continue to investigate the circumstances of her disappearance. They were assisted today by the State Police Special Emergency Response Team, a unit specially-trained in outdoor evidentiary searches.
The investigation into this morning’s discovery of a body in Brattleboro remains in its early stages.
Police are looking to locate and speak with Matthew Davis, 34, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, who may have information relevant to the ongoing investigation. Davis is Anderson’s former boyfriend. He has ties to the Pittsfield, Mass., area.
Davis is white, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information on Davis’s whereabouts, or who may have seen Davis or Ms. Anderson, either together or separately, in the last few days, is asked to call Vermont State Police in Westminster at 802-722-4600 or simply call 911.
