Missing man located in Rhode Island river after extensive search
A man that had gone missing after falling into water this past weekend has been located.
According to the Westerly Fire Department, at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Westerly Fire, Pawcatuck Fire, Westerly Police, Stonington Police, and Westerly Ambulance responded to a call about a person in the river near 99 Main Street. Westerly Fire Marine 30 and Pawcatuck Fire Marine 1 were promptly launched to search the riverbanks along the Pawcatuck River, accompanied by a drone. The United States Coast Guard and DEM were notified.
Westerly Fire units concluded their operations at 9:00 p.m., while Westerly Police and a USCG Helicopter remained on-site yielding a negative search result.
The search resumed Monday morning, with additional Regional Marine Assets from South Kingston and Dunn’s Corner’s Fire Department, shortly after 9:00 a.m. 40-year-old Matthew Brouillette of Westerly was found Monday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Mutual aid included Pawcatuck Fire Department, Westerly Ambulance, Westerly Police Department, Stonington Police Department, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, USGS, Dunn’s Corners Fire Department, and Union Fire District of South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

The Missing person was actually found by a Rhode Island Canine Search and Rescue K9, Finn, Monday morning, about 30 Ft from where the person was last seen on a surveillance camera.
